They removed the last drain from Nathaniel's head. They're now starting again to wean him from the ventilator. The plastic surgeons were in for a visit today. They said that everything looks okay. The wound is staying closed for now. One of the nurses suggested that they give Nathaniel extra protein food. It's the same supplement they give to people who suffer from bedsores. They hope this will help with wound healing.

Tomorrow he's getting a PEG in his stomach so he can be fed that way rather than through a nasogastro tube. It should be more comfortable for him.
