Nathaniel continues to make amazing progress. He likes his independence and now is brushing his teeth. It's amazing because he brushes both sides, which means that he has to change directions by rotating the brush.

When given a book, he can leaf through it page by page. He can do it for English books as well as Hebrew books (i.e., backward and forward). He doesn't read or even notice what is on the pages, but he turns them.

The optometrist said that he should wear his glasses to encourage his pupils to focus where they should. We still don't know what he can see or how he sees, but maybe this will help.

In a big advancement, he is starting to play tic-tac-toe. We give him a marker and on his white board, he is starting to make X and O marks and put them where they are strategically appropriate. It is hard for him because he was right-handed, but now he must learn to write with his left hand.

The communication therapists think they may have heard his voice. That is a very good sign, but it is just the beginning, and he is not consistent.

He sometimes recognizes friends and familiar people and reacts differently toward different people.
