Earlier this week, I came to Nathaniel's place. He was in the middle of a private speech therapy session. He saw me , smiled, and whispered "Hi". The therapist and I were in shock. He kept trying to vocalize more after that, but he wasn't successful.

We are working with him to be able to express how he is feeling. He has a touchscreen computer and we have added a screen with various emotions for him to choose, like happy, sad, scared, annoyed. We are working with him to help us understand how he is feeling and what he wants. The caregiver thought to offer him a taste of humus, but he declined. Interesting to me because he didn't like it before. Then again, we offered him banana, which he ate with gusto, but when asked if he liked banana, he shook his head, "No."
