Nathaniel is progressing very well with swallowing. In fact, we are trying to get him used to eating/swallowing three times per day (regular meal times). He still eats soft foods that are pureed, but he's eating more.

Today we had some time so we asked him what he wanted to do. He wanted to go out so we asked him where. He chose synagogue so we walked there. Two people were learning together so we asked to join. They were learning laws of kashrut. I couldn't believe it when they told me. Just as we are working with getting him to eat more, he drops in on a lesson on kashrut. There are no coincidences.

To let us know what he wanted to do/go, he has a communication board on his touch screen laptop. We are working with him to get more proficient. Currently it is easier for him to just nod his head or use hand gestures, but that limits what he can tell us.
