On Yom Hashoah, just before the siren, the caregiver asked Nathaniel to choose a psalm to read just before and to think about during the 1-minute of silence. He chose #18. In Hebrew letters, “18” means "life". How appropriate.
For Yom Hazikaron, Nathaniel went to the Kotel for the first time since the attack. (see the picture)
He seemed to know where he was because as soon as he approached the large stones, he put his hand out to touch them.
For Yom Haatzmanut Nathaniel’s friends came over for a barbecue and they took their annual group photo. It is amazing how much progress he has made in just one year since the last one!
Nathaniel now swallows food very well. They are working on getting him to chew harder food and move it around the mouth with his tongue. He even ate pasta bolognaise, which is a challenge to chew. He is also improving in swallowing sips of water. Thank God!
May he continue to rehabilitate and even at an increased rate, with the help of the Merciful One, Hashem. Our prayers are with him. S. Kurz
It's great to see him at the kotel on such a beautiful day. Everyone who works with him must be so inspired by all the progress that he has made. It's so nice to see these updates. With blessings for continued improvements. Jenny Druxman
